Day 158: Will You Become Unpopular If You Said No?

Has it ever crossed your mind that you will become unpopular if you said no? Or that you will appear selfish and lazy? When you say yes to everything, you probably are afraid that you will miss out on opportunities and that more is better. If you feel over burdened, maybe it is time to change. Remove from your list or schedule some tasks and activities.

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom

Psalm 90:12 NLT

Often we say yes to everything, hoping our lives will get better (Sometime it does – the more you learn, the more you become better, if you make more money, life is better.), However this may not work for obligations in your list of to do. The more you have on your to-do list, the less time you have to think and get to know what deserve your attaention and what is not a priority.

For this reason, start removing items on your list of to-dos. Become aware that, less is also cool and less can be more. Think hard before accepting a responsibility or adding an extra to-do on your schedule. Seek to simplify your life by freeing up your calendar of activities. You will feel good when you have some time for yourself.

What can you eliminate in your schedule today? What can you trade-off, is it that one hour of reading? Which you can use to catch up with your friends or spend with family. Or will you free up one hour of work to go for a walk or gym.

Remove all unessentials from your day to day life and increase your focus on what is most important. Some important things do not get the needed attention because of other less important tasks in your schedule.
