Day 8 – Today, Show Bravery

Growing up, I never dared to sing. My brother would beat drums, maintain a rhythmic pattern and sing along, if I tried, I lost the pattern or the song tune. I joined the dance group in high school for a ‘mwomboko’ and it was terrible, I never made it and never tried again. Ever since then, I have avoided singing altogether, I sing in my head or in a congregation!

Here I am now with a two year old and I have become an expert in singing baby shark! Why? Because my daughter does not care. She does not care whether I have a terrible voice or not. I have to do it to show her that it is possible she can sing. Seeing me sing, her determination is forever changed. Seeing other people make a brave moves make you want to be brave too.

That is why you have to start; I have to start too. I have to keep singing along her, I have to keep writing and I have to keep sharing, so that others will be inspired to be brave alongside me. That way we change a course, our society and our lives for better.

To be who you are is never easy, it will never be; to be the person you are predestined will require determination and bravery. Nevertheless, when you show bravery, your story will change people around you. It changes you as you as well.

Today, share your story of bravery. Tell it to somebody.

This is daily Hunch. A Hunch to help you become.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
