The rule of eating a frog;
The first rule; if you have to eat a live frog at all it does not pay to stay there watching it, just eat it, the second rule; if you have to eat two frogs eat the ugliest one first!!! ( a concept told by Seth Godin)
Procrastination should be a thing of the past if you intend to progress make a head way in to your tasks and goals. You should avoid it like small pox! Do the things you fear doing and keep on doing them. It is the quickest and surest way ever to conquer fear and achieve goals.
We all experience moments where we just do not feel like it and so we push tasks forward, we postpone. The problem is we compromise our future success, we fail to meet deadlines, we lose money, family and even our health. Here is my tip to help you complete your set tasks, anchor yourself or condition yourself. For example, use a rubber band in your hand to tap yourself every time you feel the urge to procrastinate or push a task forward. After sometime, you will condition your mind. Every thought of procrastination is decoded by your mind to be a pain that you have to avoid at all cost. You can use any trick to anchor yourself in finishing what matters.
Stephen Covey summarizes this in his statement, “You have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the courage – pleasantly, smilingly, nonapologetically – to say ‘no’ to other things (Learn how to say No). And the way to do that is by having a bigger ‘yes’ burning inside. The enemy of the ‘best‘ is often the ‘good.'”
Next time you are served a frog, Just eat it!
