Time lessons from the morning bus to work
Do you board a bus to the office or your area of work? I do board every morning to the office the company hired bus. You know it has specific pick up time and it never fails (Unless traffic conspired to hold it), It picks me up at the bus stop exactly at 7.20 Am each morning, the delay is never more than 5 minutes.
If you are not a morning person like myself, then you know the rush that comes with the thought of being left behind by the bus which might lead you to end up boarding the public means which come with its own cost (in my case).
Psalms 90:12 – So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.
I have been forced to run likea mad person severally to catch the bus, I leave the house before grabbing cupof tea, forget the keys and sometimes the work ID, end up belting on the road or straightening the hair running. Crazy! Sometimes, with all this mess, panting and sweating, the bus ends up leaving you. The painful part is when you see it leaving! Often, after being left you choose to board a public means hoping it will drive faster and catch the bus on the next stop! The rude shock is when the public van stops longer on the next stage and the bus drives off faster and you are unable to catch up. You keep cursing, calling the conductor and the driver names inside your heart for stopping on the bus stage longer. Your whole morning is messed up. Such experience will demand an extra amount of good will and energy to liven up yourself and be competitive that day.
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

This experience has informed my behavior towards time, the bus driver would never want to leave behind a staff. He would wish to stop and wait for some minutes for any incoming staff (who overslept) but he is also bound by time and he have specific time that he should drop the staff at the work place and so he doesn’t have the luxury of waiting up on anyone. Thatis his KPI!
Time and tide waits for no man is a common phrase and has been used by many people in various circumstances. This term is another way to say that the passing of time is unstoppable and the tides unstoppable and will march on regardless of what anyone says or does!

Isaac Newton define time as a flowing river moving at constant speed from the past to the future, never deviating, never changing. We are born, we live, we die. A tree is planted, grows, is felled, cut up, and becomes a house and so on…
That is time. Never waits. Never considers to wait. It moves on. So, learn to cooperate with time, from my experience, life gets easier. You accomplish more and you cease from being a time rusher!
